For hundreds of years, composers and artists have been creating variations on a theme. Now BYU Communications professor Christopher Cutri is doing the same for web documentaries.

His recently launched channel, The Rake (Tumblr, YouTube), is “a documentary series where an array of themes and ideas are culled together into one locale.”

The inaugural theme of the series is “artists who happen to be Mormon.” In 10-minute films, Cutri explores their work and the impact their lives have on their art:

Future shorts will deal with themes of food, lifestyle sports, and education. Watch The Rake.
