A team of BYU’S Advertising students took national best of show at Saturday’s Student American Advertising Awards Competition (Scott James).

The School of Communications offers one degree, a BA in Mass Communications.  Within this degree program, students may specialize in one of three emphases: Advertising, News Media (formerly Journalism), and Public Relations.

INTERNSHIP & CAREER SERVICES

From the day students enter the program to the day they graduate the Internship & Career Services Office helps with any form of career preparation. The office provides resume and portfolio critiques, mentoring opportunities, interview preparation, and general internship counsel.

The Brigham Young University School of Communications prepares professionals to  facilitate the transfer of ideas among people through mass media communication. The School of Communications, a division of the College of Fine Arts and Communications, is located in the George H. Brimhall Building on the south end of the BYU campus.

BYU AdLab

The BYU AdLab is located in 140 BRMB and is available for use by all accepted students in the advertising sequence. Inside are Macs and PCs equipped with programs such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite. The AdLab can be reached at (801) 422-7324.

Newsline

The Newsline studio is located in 150 BRMB and is used for the daily Newsline newscast at noon. Inside are computers available to broadcasting students equipped with Final Cut Pro, iNews and AvidNews. The Newslline studio can be reached at (801) 422-6918.

YDigital Agency

The YDigital Agency is located in 116 BRMB and is available to all accepted students in the School of Communications. Macs and PCs are available with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite. The YDigital Agency can be reached at (801) 422-4946.

The Universe

The Universe is located in 152 BRMB and is where Comms students report and edit for the online Universe and produce BYU’s weekly newspaper. Inside computers and work stations are available to Universe staff and writers. The Universe newsroom can be reached at (801) 422-2957.
