Marcus Hardy is Director of Communications at a rapidly growing technology startup that specializes in distributed software testing. As the firm’s first communications-focused hire, Marcus is building out the comms function and team holistically as a senior leader at the company.
Previously, Marcus worked in external communications at Fiserv, a Fortune 500 financial services technology firm. While there, he drove external communications for several business lines at the company, with a specific focus on credit unions, banks, and on promoting thought leadership and research from Raddon, a research and consulting house owned by Fiserv.
Marcus started his career on the agency side. Previously, he was an account supervisor at Codeword, where he led communications teams that represented Utah-based technology, consumer, and B2B startups including CircusTrix and SimpleCitizen.
Prior to his relocation to Utah, Marcus worked in New York City at Codeword and at CooperKatz & Company (now G&S Business Communications). While in New York, he served as the Public Affairs Director for his stake in Queens. He is a graduate of the BYU communications program, a recipient of the Rulon L. Bradley Award, a current board member for the Greater Salt Lake Chapter of PRSA, and a past interim-President for Utah Valley PRSA, which joined with the Greater Salt Lake Chapter in 2020.
Marcus began adjunct teaching at BYU in 2016. In his spare time, he plays percussion as a hobbyist and occasional gigging musician. His spouse, Erica, is a Suzuki cello instructor. They have three boys, two cats, one dog, and no more room in their house for any additional critters.
