Brinton M. Wilkins is an associate at the Salt Lake law firm of Kirton McConkie.  His practice areas include general commercial civil litigation, employment law, and adoption law.  Prior to joining Kirton McConkie, he was an associate at the Salt Lake law firm of Wood Jenkins, and in Phoenix, Arizona, at Holm Wright Hyde & Hays, PLC.  Mr. Wilkins is a regular contributor to the Utah Employment Law Letter.  He graduated from BYU in 2001 with a major in print journalism and a minor in sociology.  He earned his JD from BYU’s J. Reuben Clark Law School in 2005, during which time he spent one summer interning at the European Union Parliament in Brussels, Belgium.  In 2005, the Brigham Young University Law Review published his article, “Splitting the Baby; An Analysis of the Supreme Court’s Take on Customary International Law Under the Alien Tort Statute in Sosa v. Alvarez-Machain.”  As a law student, he was awarded a graduate research grant in connection with his research into the historical underpinnings of Thomas Jefferson’s view of judicial power.

He is married to the former Whitney Scott, and is the father of three beautiful children, Nicholas, Peter, and Jane.
